random update

I have been trying to catch up on my gospel reading of about ten years. I am reading the entire Old Testament..I have made it to Isaiah..so should be able to finish by the end of the year.

The global events of the past several years are interesting to compare to Isaiah. While Isaiah writes on many levels, past, present and future...the compelling prophecies of the Messiah, "restoration",and "the last days" cause one to ponder.

It seems that the time to prepare is now! Hope all is well!!

forgiveness

From a book written by stephen robinson, believing christ. "When we become one with Christ in the gospel covenant,, we gain access to his perfection." "I mean that from the moment the partnership (with Christ) in good faith, from the moment we have sincere faith in Christ, sincerely repent of our sins, receive baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost- from this moment the partnership is Celestial." the author goes on to explain that the covenant partnership is not individual perfection, which comes much later thru faith and obedience, but is the perfection in Christ thu which we receive the benefit of Christ, our partner's perfection. at any rate i recommend the book

My great brilliance

Good evening world!! This is my first ever attempt at a live journal. The weather in the Seattle area has been beautiful today, even though we are anxiously awaiting volcanic activity from Mt. Saint Helens. This waiting causes me to think about life. Often we have to wait for things and events. The expectation of wonderful events energizes our lives. We all need happy things to look forward to. We develop patience as we realise that the anticipation is actually an important element of the happiness. The excitement of milestone events, (like a Prom, for instance) sometimes outweighs the reality of the event. Likewise we often only really enjoy a piece of music because we float through time in anticipation and excitement over what is next. (ie the next musical phrase) So each day we quake with anticipation, what is next. This is my thought for the day. We look forward to a life of joy, knowing that life brings sunshine and rain. Today life has brought sunshine.

Test

Testing, testing, one two three...this isn't actually "me" writing this. My oh-so-brilliant daughter set this up for me and had to test it before handing it over to me. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this "blog" thing, but I'm going to try it out. So this is my first official entry. Ish. Like I said, it isn't really "me" who's making this entry. I may delete it later, if my daughter shows me how. She's very smart like that and can do almost anything. I'll be getting a lot of help from her with this, as well as from my other brilliant daughter. Although the other one is very lazy...but she is incredibly intelligent. Anyway, this is just a test entry. Enjoy!
